Overview
The Northwest Montana Lakes Network (NMLN) is a partnership between Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the Whitefish Lake Institute.
Our mission is to recruit and train citizen scientist volunteers to monitor water quality, identify and report Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) and promote watershed stewardship in Northwest Montana.
Through the work of the volunteers in the program, lake data is collected and results detailing the health and status of these lakes are reported to management agencies and the public.

Program Lakes
The NMLN currently monitors a total of fifty locations on forty-one lakes in Flathead, Lake, Lincoln and Missoula counties. The lakes in the program represent diversity in public use, accessibility, and morphology. Click here for a larger version of the Lakes Monitored map. For specific lake information click on the lake name in the box on the right.
